Plasma Ignition Systems?
Has anyone heard of a Plasma Ignition system? I ran across a mention of it on a circle track forum and started doing some searching. Apparently there are several companies selling plasma ignition systems with some pretty big performance gain claims.
I'm just curious if this is hokum or real technolgy.

never heard of it before and i been around alot of pro drag cars.

contact Performance Distributors, most if not all ignition boxes dont increase power output when compared to a properly functioning HEI. The increase in spark output as shown on the webpage seems like way too much to put through a plug without burning it out prematurely, at least on a driver. On the other hand a race engine gets torn down between rounds/heats, so new plugs can always be used.

I heard about this ignition probably 10 - 15 years ago and it sounded great then but haven't really heard anything since. I can't remember the company that was doing it at the time but I seem to recall they had something to do with the newly emerging electronic fuel injection.
