      Project "Midlife"

I'm new to pro-touring.com and thought I'd make my second post the start of a build thread. My project is a '72 Camaro (base model w/307 and 2-speed Powerglide) that will become a track-day car that will see occasional road use. As of now, the plans include swapping out the original drivetrain for an LS / T-56 combo, as well as track-worthy suspension, brakes, wheels & tires, and safety equipment. Other details will be the addition of A/C, a stereo, blacked-out tail light panel, flat-black Z28 style stripes, early 2nd gen rear spoiler, and front airdam. I'm planning on keeping the exterior as-is, including the vinyl top, but totally re-doing the engine bay to highlight the new engine, as well as the interior to account for the safety improvements, which will include a rollbar or cage, rear seat delete, a pair of track seats, and an update of the materials throughout the cabin (think carbon fiber, aluminum, leather, and alcantara (fake-suede).

Here are a few "before" pictures:

      Later,
      Chris

Great bones to start with, I sure like the car Detroit Speed use as a test car. Many carbon parts available for this car in Nor Cal

      Enjoy the trip,
Courage is being scared to death... and saddling up anyway.
