      Newbie from Long Island

Hi, I'm Allan from Plainview NY... I've been lurking here for years and finally decided to up and join (cause I need another forum to play on all day instead of working.) My current car is a 1968 Chevelle SS, it's a 138 vin but the original motor/trans was gone when I got it so I haven't felt bad tearing it to pieces.

I've been going to slow Pro-touring route and bolting stuff on as I drive the car but I've been getting the itch to finally get my butt in gear and finally restore and finish the work I can't do with the body on the frame.

I went to Bellmore last week, I hadn't been there in a while and I can't say I like the location... I went over to Massapequa, I'd rather give 2 cans of food than 3 bucks and there's much more room over there... I'd like to check out Smithtown on Saturday night, there's a cruise night going on at the Stop & Shop on 25a by the bull, I grew up in Smithtown so it holds a special place, lol... Otherwise the wife and I get a sitter and do Cedar Beach on Saturday's as a date night...

It's on 25a just east of where 25 and 25a split off, if you know where the Smithtown Bull is, it's just east of there... My wife and kids are in California at the moment so I figured I'd go visit my parents and head over there....

Was considering checking out the cruise night up in Kings Park tonight (Thursday.) Went to Tri-County in Levittown on Tuesday and it was somewhat dead... Want to try and make the Oyster Bay one on a Tuesday night, I just upgraded to newer headlight housings and they weren't adjusted yet, didn't want to be coming back through the backroads of Oysterbay & Syosset without them being adjusted correctly.

I was over by the intersection of wantaugh ave & Hville Rd. Island Trees. Used to run around out of the BK on Hempstead Tpk many years ago. S/OB Expy in the '80's was fun!

Welcome to the site Allan...I'm a big fan of the 68's ever since I was about 8 years old and my 21 year old brother came home with a SS 396/4spd car and took me for a ride!

Thanks... A set of your rear springs are holding up the rear end, had to put a set of drag bags in them for a little right side preload as the car wouldn't launch straight.

Awesome! Can we use a picture of your car for our Facebook possibly? If you are having a tough time with straight launchs you might want to look into our rear Xtreme Bar....

BMR, not sure how much longer the springs are gonna be in there as I want to convert the rear to coil overs like I did with the front...
