Tony, I know my wife and I would like to volunteer also. Do you need help, or where can you sign up?

      Thanks, Mike

P.S. I saw this after I responded to you in the Hot August Nights thread

actually, yesterday was the last day for signups. I found out at 4 pm and the deadline was 5 pm. it was suprizingly more personal than I figured it would be. If I find out more details, I'll let you know.

      Tony,

The makeover is a house two blocks from my parents house. My mom knows the lady getting the makeover, great person.

They picked up the family yesterday and sent them to Orlando. My family went by there last night, everything blocked off, ready to go. I am going to be stopping by tonight sometime to see any progress. Have fun!

Hey Tony how was the build.

Went and saw the house last night, as much as we could see, very nice. Saw a few of the design team. The reveal is today between 12-3. They think there might be 3k-5k people there today.

the rumor is that it may be the season premier.

I'm STILL tired from the night i spent there. Met ty, met paul, and "Josh" the new carpenter. I helped with the foundation, cut and bent rebar and nailed forms. It was Awsome. I'll try and download the vids off of my phone.

An interesting inside peice of info: The design process shown on the show is total bull.

the house was built in sacramento all the way to "sheer" plumbed and electric installed, and inspected. Then broken down to several trailer sized peices and shipped to the jobsite. over three weeks ago!

In effect its a custom "pre fabbed" house. This one had an elevator which is neat. I've never seen so much construction equipment and people on one job in my life. Everyone was super cool. Even given the extreme pressure they were under. and my god, what understanding neighbors they have. the noise and chaos was INSANE.

I always wondered about that and figured they'd have to do something along those lines to make it meet code. Usually takes longer than a week to get the inspector to even come by for a walk through!!!
