Suggestions for 383 sbc

My car has a 383 sbc making 579hp/50tq at the engine with a 2004r tranny and 3500 stall. Currently,my exhaust is as follows:

1 3/4 tube, 3" collector long tube headers
3" with h pipe running to borla Xr1 mufflers (12" case), dumped under the car.

The car is way too loud for me now, so I am going Friday to change things up. Qouple questions...

Going to change to an xpipe, but trying to determine best mufflers for a quieter ride but still aggressive at full throttle.



Car is mainly street driven with occasional track days. Would going to a full 2.5 system really hurt performance?

The new exhaust will have tailpipes exiting the rear of the car, just limited space due to tci 4link.

No would not hurt and a bit quieter. Dumps are not helping as well as the Borlas you have. Your planned changes will help a lot
