      Bonehead miss!!

Well, I found my "problem" with the fuel pressure last night! The car would rip hard for about 2-3 seconds and then totally fall on its face after that. I put a guage on it to check the pressure and it would drop about the same spot, but I could never figure out why. I ended up dropping the tank and putting a new A1000 pump in it, enlarging the pickup tubes, moving the return tube in the tank in case it was cavatating somehow, checking all the lines looking for kinks, dent or whatever. Good, shoud be fixed....! So, while pulling the rocker studs back out last night (the screw in studs keep loostening and leaking somehow), I my buddy looks over and says "where is the adjuster screw for the FP regulator?" DOOH!!! I guess it vibrated out and I didn't notice it since the regulator will only drop the pressure down to 7psi (where it needs to be) with it "all the way out".
Well, now it all makes sense because it would run hard for a little while and "leak" out enough pressure to let it back off just enough for the boost to overcome the FP and fall on its face. I never looked because when it blows the hose off, it will just barely get under boost and then it falls on its face, not rip for a little while.

Well, good that it's fixed now.....AND it has a new pump that it didn't need!!! LOL

      IT RUNS!!! WooHoo!!
I pulled all the rocker studs because some were loosening up and screwing with the valve adjustment and leaking and put some Preslock on them in hopes it seals and locks them down. Got it all back together with the valves run, new fuel pump, rebuilt turbo and new governor in the tranny!! I started it up and have no leaks or weird noises!! So, it looks like I am going to make it to MMCC after all!! Need to drive it around tomorrow to make sure there are no other issues.
      Awesome!

I had a similar problem with a boat. My regulator was wide open and would run rich and rough after a throttle cycle.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who chases spends countless hours and dollars trying to troubleshoot only to find out it was something simple right under my nose.

      Rattin smattin stinkin piece of.......!!
Well, it's 1:30 am and I am on here and not in bed asleep!! The car runs pretty good, although I think the plugs are dead cause it's really rich. But anyway I test drove it up to the gas station to fill it up a d see if everything is good. Well it's all good and runs good and seems to be working well. I'm filling it up and I hear something running out from under the car and look, well fuel is pouring out from the top from of the tank!! Great! It's midnight now and I'm here without a gas can or hose to siphon out some fuel! So I decide to drive some out rather than sit over a big puddle of ever growing fuel. So I go and drive 20-30 miles around (which was nice BTW!) and fo back home. Apparently the plate on top of the tank that everything is mounted to didn't seal back up when I put it back in. I shalacked it and thought tha was enough, but I guess not! Looks like I am going to be pulling a tank out in the am instead of heading to Illonois for the MMCC. Hopefully later!

What works best as a sealant for fuel tanks and such?
