      Custom Center console build HELP?

My 65 442 is finally coming together. There is a lack of places in my area to get a good custom center console built. I have access to some good carpenters, and can do about anything with metal fabrication. The car is now a floor shift, and I want to hide most of the B&M shifter to give it a custom/stockish look. I also want to incorporate a flip up console where i can store some small things, a cup holder or 2 maybe and a power point/lighter. I have a stock center console to use as a templete, to get the floor radius's correct but I am CLUELESS as to where to start, and body have any pictures where they built one? Ideas where to get a latch for the console top? HELP!!!!!!!

      Thanks

Here is a build thread for a console I did a couple years ago.

Can you post some pictures of the original console, so I can get some ideas?

I've been wondering the same thing. My plan is to use foam, shape it out and then fiberglass it.

Here is an article from a few years ago on this subject. The .pdf file is the original article...
