      An Infamous update.

This is something I don't do a lot on here, mainly I don't think my car is all that much to talk about compared to all the heavy hitters in the community, but I'm sitting here bored at work and thought I'd share a little 'Project Update' with y'all.

As some of you may know, I had planned to wheel my car into the paint booth last sunday (July 16th) and get her painted. What can I say....this body work stuff is proving to be more work then I had originally thought. Over shutdown I was in the garage scuffing the e-coat on my decklid with some 220 when I noticed some creases on the surface. Upon closer inspection they looked to be uniform and symetrical across the centerline. This must have occured during the e-coating process. Either they grabbed it too hard with a machine or some idiot hurled it onto the gurney when transporting it. I thought all I was going to have to do was prime and block my decklid and instead I worked for 3 days on it just to fix all the damage. And I haven't even gotten to the blocking part yet. That's just one in a long list of unforeseen problems I've had to deal with. Now my Wife decides she wants a ceramic tile backsplash on our new kitchen we installed back in March. Wonderful news, just what I want to hear. I should be getting the tile this week from the distributer and be installing it this weekend. When your involved in the Hot Rodding hobby and your Wife is not necessarily involved in it with you.....you gotta keep her happy (this is for all you single guys or recently engaged ones). I envy you guys with the girlfriends or Wives that are into cars. Me? I married a domestic Princess. I couldn't help myself....she was hot and had big boobs.

Anyway, with any luck I'll be back to sanding and priming next week. It's looking like sometime in August now when I'll get the car to the booth. Believe it or not I have still not decided on a color yet, but it is nailed down to just two. The first choice is Black. I love black Camaros. If I do black I'm going to sell my wheels and tires and go with billet ralley's and a 4 speed. It will look like the sketch on my website. The 2nd choice is Metallic Blue Pearl (PT Crusier). With that choice I'll keep the wheels and tires that I have and go with an automatic. So basically I'm torn between a basic 'sleeper' type scheme and a more 'showy' type car.

That's it for the update, thanks for letting my waste your time.

We now return you to your regulary scheduled programming...already in progress.

The paint choices sound good, but why the difference in transmission according to color?

At least you're getting something done... It's been to freakin' hot for me... I can work for about 15 mins then I shut down.
The paint thing is understood... I see a lot of mediocre paint jobs out there that, if the the time had been spent to prep it correctly, would have been outstanding. Take your time and do it right the first time...
Not to get off the subject but "hot" & "big boobs" qualifies most women for some pedestal time, agreed?

69rs...the difference in transmissions? I don't know...I guess I always viewed a 'sleeper' as a more race-type car and a 'showy' car as a cruiser. That kinda explains the 2 trans choices. It has to do with the overall scheme.

Its nice to hear an update from you Tony. Sorry to hear about the misfortune with the E-process. That actually really sucks since that is not a cheap process to begin with. Then you have to repair unexpected damage. Just sucks. At least your hanging in there. Your not alone either. I am trying to bust my butt right now on my car and even with the girlfriend interrested in cars, its still tough. She welds on her car while I work on mine. I still try to spend time with her to keep her happy. Yes we are PW'd.

So you are going back-and-forth between two different themes for the car...not just color. Gotcha!:icon996:

Oh believe me. Every night I go to bed and spoon, I am very thankful that I have a cute girlfriend and an unfinished car. I would easily take that any day instead of..well you know the other alternative... :bsjerk: :bsjerk:

I know exactly how you feel! My wifey hates my metal mistress!

Adam you be quiet..your girls cute, likes cars, and plays games! Actually she's better than that!! She welds on her own car, works on it while your at your job, and probably gets upset when you don't buy her those RIMS you promissed. The next step is to get her to work on yours while your on the job!!

      T,
The next time some bozo says his car has no bondo, you'll just smile, 'cause you know better. A straight car takes a lot of work and a good amount of filler--even with brand new sheetmetal. Glad to hear that you are chippin' away. I'm looking forward to seeing it painted. Don't let the "heavy hitters" keep you from posting pix. The little guys need to be reminded that there's light at the end of the tunnel.

      Color Vote

      Tony,
I vote for Black with the Rally wheels!

Anyone else remember the "Better off dead" Camaro with John Cusack???

Man that was a nice car! Funny 80s movie too with all the animation...

Anyway, some guy has a website on it I think he searched for it, found it and did a full roto-restore on it.

Found it: www.betteroffdeadcamaro.com How easy was that!?

Back on topic... Black with Rally wheels!

Jigga...I've built every engine I've ever put in this car (and believe me, with my lead foot there have been plenty). This time around will be no different. On an engine stand in the corner of my garage sits a 400 4-bolt main SBC. When finished it will be a 406 with Trick Flow heads, Roller camshaft. About 500+horsepower. Plenty for this vicinity.

Jagarang.......Oh she's still a looker. She has Pilates to thank for that.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, guys. Hopefully I'll have some 'visual' updates for you in the next month or so.
