Austrailian V8 Supercar drive train

What kind of engine/transmission packages are they running in the V8 Supercars? I was setting here watching a race on TV and it occurred to me that a Holden engine/transmission combo would be really neat in a first gen Camaro. Does anyone know if the V8 Supercar teams sell off their surplus parts like the big NASCAR teams do?

Holinger Engineering sequential shift 6spds. I believe the engines are limited to 5.0L and may have roots in SBC and SBF engines, but I don't know for sure. I believe they also have EFI (welcome to the 1980s NASCAR!).

I do recall seeing 1 season reconned old Holiger's somewhere for under 10K AUD (there 25+ new IIRC)...dammed if I can find a link though. One of those behind a LS would be badass.

I think the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as at Muncie or a T10. If Holinger makes a SBC bellhousing it will work on a LSx engine.

Their are (were?) even ones that used CV joints so you could set camber and toe 'til the backend looked like a pigeon toed VIP car, (not that you'd want that).

They are more similar to an Indy engine.....
Holden / Ford Motorsport 5.0 litre fuel injected V8.
Custom developed Racing Team developed cylinder heads, fuel injection, intake and exhaust system.
Category control MoTec engine management control system.

POWER Estimated 635 + bhp limited to maximum 7,500 RPM

I'll stick with my "Super Car" T56 considering that Holinger transmission is $8400 - Yikes! I'll be honest, I consider the LS9 and T56 to be super car drive train parts when they're being tested against Farrari's and Lamborghini's.

Being a GM brand, stock Holdens run LS motors in AU and the V8 Supercars likely run a very similar LS race motor to the ALMS Corvettes here. Search Corvette C6R and you'll get all kinds of tech

The reason Nascar didnt allow EFI for so many years was because a carb is much simpler from a rules enforcement point of view than EFI, it's not that they weren't capable. Theres more hi tech stuff going on in Nascar than you would ever imagine.
