      Bump shifters

We have paddle shfters for $600 but for a bump shifter the only one I can find is by Mastershift for $2249 why?
Yes, I can see the basic machining of the Aluminimum parts in the Mastershift unit but $1800 more.....
Does anybody make a bump shifter that doesn't cost the earth?.

Anybody not familiar with the Mastershift unit

No one makes an affordable design, but you can spend some time in the junkyard, ebay motors, or at the dealership parts counter adapting your own. The picture below shows a shifter from a Jeep Grand Cherokee adapted. It was only coupla hundred dollars new. It's a tall shifter, so quite a bit of work was involved.

If your really super interested in it you can actually build one yourself. If you can figure out the wiring schematic and get creative you can build one from scratch. From what ai found about them, all the shifter does is control the up shift down shift ( TU/TD) feature of the trans. The Some trans are going t be easier than others.

      What?
      $2K for an auto shifter?
      How hard can that be?

I have a CNC equipped machine shop, sounds like I should be making these instead of my current products!

Please put up some links for what I need to know to develop this as a new product!
At these prices I want my gas 100 octane, leaded, and my windshield washed!
