Did you Order bonspeed Wheels from Driverzinc ?

I have had numerous customers contacting me about orders that they placed through driverzinc. It is very unfortunate to find out that a dealer
is not representing our products professionally or providing the utmost in customer care. Several customers have made direct contact with us
and we are helping them work through their orders. Some of these customers ordered as long ago as November and we never saw the order until
      late January!

IF YOU ORDERED bonspeed WHEELS FROM JON and DRIVERZINC and HAVE NOT YET CONTACTED US DIRECT PLEASE CALL! WE WILL DO EVERYTHING
WE CAN TO ASSIST YOU WITH YOUR ORDER.

      TOLL FREE: 1.888.999.7258

Please note that some customers have indicated they paid cash and they do not have the credit card company to assist them. Even with cc assistance it is those
cc transactions that raise costs for all of us.

      CUSTOMER TIPS:
      • If you purchase our wheels from any reseller and it takes in excess of 6-7 weeks, please contact us directly.
note: Some instances such as special rim sizes, custom programming or finishes may take longer but it is not the standard
      • Be sure to get a clear and complete sales invoice that describes the product and how much you paid.
      • Investigate the reseller on forums and even call the manufacturer for a reference.
      • Be sure they are an authorized reseller of the product you are purchasing.

We are disappointed that our bonspeed customers have been treated unfairly and we hope to help each and every one get their wheels!

I ordered some custom 3 pc NewGen wheels back in September from Driverzinc. They were to take 8 weeks and they actually took 12, I began asking about them the 9th and 10th week. I understand with custom parts there is a long lead time and I am ok with that. Jon felt that I was rushing him and I did not mean to convey that message I was just simply holding him to his committment and he could have told me that the wheels were running behind, NO BIG DEAL. That is water under the bridge. Once I finally received my wheels they were not mounted and balanced like I had paid for. Jon told me to go have them mounted and balanced and fax him a copy of the receipt and he would credit me accordingly, that was 5 months ago and I can not get ahold of him and Driverzinc expresses no concern about giving me a credit. Apart of me is apprehensive of even writing this, it was only $175 but when your a 21 yr old college student and have a 69 camaro project car you need all the extra cash you can get! In the big picture its not a big deal but I would still like to hold someone accountable for something they committed to.

After reading the first post in this thread it is hard for me to have hard feelings against Jon and I still don't. But thats only his side of the story and I don't have time to read what everyone else is saying but I don't sense there is much pity there. I would just like for him to fulfill his deal with me, after all he claims he's all about customer service.

This post is not meant to bash Driverzinc or create any drama I am just sharing my position with yall and I guess I am looking for closure on whether I should continue to pursue my credit or just charge it to the game?

BTW I am sure that there are people who have WAY more than 175 bucks wrapped up with Driverzinc when the company failed. Fortunately Jon was able to deliver some beautiful top notch wheels and tires to me that will fit beautifully.

Ok I made some time and read through some of the responses, WOW. It looks like I bought my wheels just in time before the collapse. From what I gathered it sounds as though NewGen is still alive and operating? With that said there is absolutely no reason why they can't honor their commitments, ESPECIALLY since I purchased NewGen wheels. I have mixed emotions about how I should feel and handle this situation, would someone like to clarify?

Knowing all of this information now I WOULD NOT have purchased NewGens back in September, but when I purchased them they were 15% off so that was huge driving factor in purchasing 3 pc wheels. BTW the center caps on these wheels are fugly but I love everything else about the wheels.

      it was only $175
i believe i paid $75 for mine, so not sure why yours were 100 more. i got mine mounted and the rears balanced but i didnt notice the fronts werent balanced until i got home. either way i found a local shop that will mount and balance for $15 ea. just make sure they can do the larger sizes.

From what I gathered it sounds as though NewGen is still alive and operating?
i would wait and see how it plays out. i dont think jon is going to be doing too much right now. he did post his number and told guys to call him if they had new gen orders, but if you dont need them right away i would let things calm down first.

Vendors need to pick up their game then. Its sooooo simple to exceed our (consumers) expectations.....be honest and on the ball. Take some lessons from a place like summit that does something as simple as charge a good price and ships it out fast. I ordered a Gen IV from one of the site sponsors and although the money was out of my account it minutes, they STILL have not submitted the order to vintage air. So come vendors, do the simple things and business will flourish. Until then, there's no benefit of saving a few bucks at the expense of the headache.

I had mine laser balanced on the machine at the Porsche dealership so I had paid quite a bit more to insure they were correct. I sent him the actual receipt from Porsche but he continues to ignore me.

Instead of bad mouthing Driverzic I'm just not going to say anything else. I will continue to try to contact him until he is sick of me seeing how he is still operating NewGen wheels....

One thing is for sure, I am taking my center caps to a machine shop to have the 'NewGen" logo milled out of the top of caps. I refuse to have anything promoting Jon Henson, NewGen wheels or Driverzinc on my car.

I was at RTTC last month and my BeCool had a crack. I called all the BeCool dealers in the So Cal area. No one had stock. They just drop ship. I called Summitt On Thurs @3:30PM. I had my BeCool delivered to my cousins house in Fullerton at 10:30Am Friday!

I went through all this fiasco with jon, justin, all I could say is nothing but lies... I was fortunate enough to get my money back after 5 months of hearing " they will be ready next week". I'm going to have to say this I personally think some fault lies with the moderators. I posted my situation on this board and in 20 min my post was flagged down. If the moderators make everybody aware of said vendor I can assure you they could have avoided some people headaches and lost money.....

This is exactly the reason why I won't buy from a FL vendor again and why 90% of the parts purchased for "Dust Off" came from Summit. I order parts and I have them in my hand in two business days. I purchased three sets of headers before I found a set that fit like I wanted. Sent the first two back for refunds no questions ask. More recently I purchased a MSD 6AL which died after about 100 miles. After a short visit with Summit's tech support, they sent me out a replacement 6AL and a call ticket for the old one no questions ask and again I received the part in two days. Summit is my go to parts source hands down.

That's true. So let's assume that Ernie's only other post (let's even postulate a 3rd post -- what the heck!) is a complaint about Driverz, and that it was originally posted in the wrong forum. Let's also assume that Ernie had gotten his money back from Driverz a month before posting. Further, let's assume all this took place early last summer. We had someone with a single post in the wrong forum who's issue had already been addressed.

Now, of course we have a whole lot more information, and things might have been handled differently had we had today's knowledge.

But blaming the PT.com moderators for Driverz's business practices misses the mark.

Sorry for indulging the thread hijack. Carry on.

I believe JP is smart enough a guy to know that Ernie could have made his first post only to have it deleted and take away from his post count or he could have registered under a different name making this his first post. Let's not focus on that because regardless of Earnie's post count he has brought up a good point.

I started noticing the trend before Driverz imploded and that was before the sale of the business. I thought something was going on when Justin left. Everyone, I think, was assuming it was Driverz' modus operandi to over promise and under deliver re: shipping. The general feeling was if you wanted it fast you don't order from Driverz but they had a lot to offer. They had a knowledge of how to spec wheels to get the most tire which was a huge attraction to the company. Another attraction was that they were a vendor for a majority of the popular mfg.'s and had their own proprietary product in New Gen Wheels. It helped that New Gen Wheels are bitchin' designs and that they had special sales of 15% off on other mfg.'s rather frequently. Also, I don't think anyone can argue that New Gen Wheels look really good. To say otherwise now would probably mean you are faulting the artistic design because of the misdeeds of the designer. FWIW, I love New Gen designs and I think it's a shame that a persons biz ethics are stifling his eye for design.

To go back to Earnie's argument, he's saying he complained, a long time ago, about slow turn around. I could have, as well, two years ago. I ordered wheels but wasn't in any kind of a hurry so I let it go. What he's saying is right but he must not have properly used the feedback forum and mods probably told him to use the right outlet but it must've got lost in translation. For everyone's sake he should have directed his feedback on Driverz to the proper section. I say this assuming his first post was about Driverz and it got deleted. This happens a lot. People will join forums for the express purpose of venting about a vendor. Mods have to be vigilant about trolls coming to a site with only one objective. We want feedback from members that we know. Otherwise, when you see a person with one post talking smack, or even just "telling it like it is", with one post we second guess it. What Earnie wanted to say back then, and now, is valid but it just simply wasn't in the proper area. This is why establishing yourself before you complain and making said complaint about a particular vendor in the Feedback section while pertaining to the rules of the Feedback section is so important.

Driverz Inc. is gone so a lot of this thread is just pi$$ing in the wind. We need to pick up our feelings and move on. Use the proper avenues of giving reviews and airing complaints. Continue to use trusted vendors and keep the right "little guys" in business.

What I would like to see is Jon continue on with New Gen or work with mfg.'s to get his wheel design capabilities into the marketplace. The guy has a good artistic mind. Let's call it like it is; he's a "supporting cast" guy that tried his hand at growing in the industry with his own company. He got in over his head because he didn't use sound practices and got caught up in a shi+ storm of excuses. In a perfect world he would make it right with everyone who has outstanding orders and he could recover with New Gen. There are a lot of success stories where the first attempt failed. That scenario, more than likely, won't play out. Exile, along with bankruptcy, is his penalty.

Those who have the ability to show empathy can see that the game isn't for everyone but you can't fault ANYONE who tries their hand at it. It is the beauty of capitalism. Succeed and win big or try and fail but know that you, at least, tried. Jon tried and failed. He's likely gone forever so at least walk away from this knowing that the system works to vet the "can do's" from the "can't do's". In a sense, I admire Jon for having a dream and pursuing it. I know I don't have the balls to jump into the self-employed world for fear of failure. Good for him on trying and good for the idea of Capitalism for weeding him out. That's the "silver lining" angle at least.

Johnny, nicely put. Post count matters because it shows that you are a member of the community -- you're making an effort to be a part of the group. Accusations from people we don't know (like their first post) are met with great skepticism. Especially when that person posts in the wrong forum, and/or gets angry when asked for more information.
