has anyone built or converted a overhead console in a chevelle/ elcamino. i was thinking about installing a overhead console from a blazer or grand prix that has storage for sun glasses and map lights. anyone built they own?

I thought about it before but I figured it would limit visibility too much, and look kinda tacky.

      Rallystyle,

I believe the overhead console is from a 90's s10 blazer. check out ebay. search overhead console, you will see alot of makes. also, look for 99-01 grand prix. even a silverado overhead console might work. alot to choose from, just see what fits. hope this helps.

I bought a console for my 56 but have not got it in yet. Although it's a Ford when I was looking shorter consoles are available from regular pickups and long ones can be had from SUV's and mini vans etc.

I'm gonna build one after learning about some new products at SEMA that will make it much easier to build. Not sure what it will look like yet, but will be completely hand built.
