Tell me about your favorite website

I've been thinking lately about starting an online business and have been gathering up some ideas and themes.
My question to you guys and gals on this forum is what is your favorite website?
What is it about the site you like? The colors? The layout? Ease of navigation?
It doesnt necessarily have to be car related, just what is it that appeals to you?
Thanks in advance for your time and input!
      John

Are you asking about the visual qualities of the website itself or the content?

Don't use too many color's, use easy color transitions, make sure navigation is clearly thought out before you start making the website, and be sure your site works on all major browsers, some times when using css browsers will add large gaps inbetween slices.

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Anything in specific you want to know? I used to do this for a living a few years back.

      My favorite Website is RollingStone.com

They keep it updated with fresh irreverent content and maintain a direct connection to the print magazine. It has the right mix of articles, videos, reviews. It's a quality destination. It truly rocks!

IMO, the Dell support website is excellent when compared to the sorry sites of their competitors such as HP.

for a sales website, check out mouser.com. They have an awesome project management feature whereby you can save lists of parts by project name, then order that list as many times as you need. Their search feature is also quite useful.

As a customer I enjoy being able to find reference material like installation manuals with the product description like what Summit and Jegs do.

No particular favorite site, just features I find helpful.

Andrew- Great question! I know that great content can make a site, even if it is rough around the edges. I'm looking more for visual advice.

Dan- Good points. I'll keep them and you in mind as I progress. Thanks!

Steve and EFI69Cam- Thanks for your input and examples. I'll check them out!

I like searchtempest.com. Not neccessarily my favorite but I like how it searches multiple Craigslist locations when looking fo an item. Its a great timesaver instead of having to search each location individually.

That's a loaded question asking a bunch of guys!!! Or mostly guys that is! LOL.

Honestly, I don't get on sites much unless it's for work and I'm trying to find something. I think Year One has a pretty decent site for a car stuff site.
