Don in the '32 vs. Mike in the C10, Don wins this one

Sal, Don & Mary had to pull straws(zip ties) to see who would get a by run to the finals. Sal picked the winner, he gets to watch Don and Mary throw down

The three finalists lined up and ready to race

Mary pulls out the win over Don in the '32, Mary and Sal are our finalists

Sal ran his quickest time of the day in the finals but it wasn't enough to take down "Fast" Mary Pozzi

Rob getting ready to hand out the awards

Don wins the street rod class

Joy wins the late model class

      Mike wins the pickup class

      Aaron wins the consistency award

Mary wins the Muscle Car class and the Shootout

Looks like a lot of fun.

The 32 almost rolled the tire off the rim in the last lap.

      srsly

He just put wider wheels on the car so he had been experimenting all day with different pressures. I am not sure where they were at on that pass but he settled around 26 psi.

Thanks for getting out there and taking photos guys; there were a ton of cameras at this event, can't wait to see all of the pictures.

I had a blast yesterday! If you didn't make it out to either participate or spectate, you should have!

Thanks to all whom put this on. I had a fun time. Too bad for me I was first out in the shoot out as they paired me against Mary Pozzi. Needless to say she put on a whoppin
I did not take any good pictures and only had the 3:00 minute video. This gives a perspective of size and while it seems slow it is much faster than it looks imo. On the back straight my speed was around ~70 MPH at a quick peek. Hopefully they get the support needed to continue.

Glad everyone had a great time. We all think it turned out great. We did make a few mistakes, but the event went smoothly, and we learned how to do it better next time. Thanks to everyone who helped out. We'll continue to post up picts and video too. Next date, Sept. 11, a SATURDAY, should be a blast.

What mistakes, Rob??? To me, the event was seamless and flowed extremely well. What I liked was the practice in the morning, then time for lunch and car adjustments (if needed), followed by the afternoon consistency, qualifying, and then the runoffs. Too much packed into a day is worse than not enough.

If you are looking for suggestions, how about drawing for three-car teams or having a separate "team" entry for suspension companies? I'm just throwing stuff out and after getting home late last night, I'm still all grins and giggles over last Thursday.

      Much fun ...

Rob, event was a blast...well run with lots of track time and the next one being on a Saturday should bring out lots more people. I'd love to see the rest of the times from the consistency challenge and qualifying, Chad posted up the morning practice numbers on Bangshift.

I'll be hitting some Time Attack nights to get in some more practice before the next one...
