      Another Newbie Hello

      Hello All,

I am here to meet new friends and bring my '70 Chevelle up to touring status. It was an original L34 purchased new by my Dad and I earned it from him in '79. She is now sporting a ZZ502/502 backed by a Richmond ROD 6 speed. Yes, I have kept all the original parts!

      Regards, Jody

Welcome aboard Jody, always great to have another A-body join the ranks. Sounds like a cool car, any pictures? We love pictures.
With a name like you chose, I am guessing you got the tranny issues covered? LOL
Enjoy your stay here, and hopefully you can help out with the tranny section questions.

      Hello Bill,

Thanks for the welcome. I have been tinkering with manual transmissions and differentials for a long time!

I just did a web page of my Chevelle. I am not sure if I did it correctly but, here goes!

      Kuhlryde,

I will have to check that for you but, I can tell you this, she is a lot better than the 6 MPG I got with the tunnel rammed427! She has a 3.42:1 rear differential gearset and the ROD 1st gear is 3.27:1. The car feels like it has a 5.08:1 rear gear feel in 1st gear if you compare it to a 4 speed. The final drive is a 2.59:1 in 6th and that equals 64MPH@2,000RPM.
