Fender Rub / Coil Spring Spacers

I went against advice and put 255/60/15's on the front of my 75 Formula after installing the GT springs from PTFB. Stance is perfect, With about 1 inch of space above tire.
I also installed Konis. I tightened them about 1 turn.

I replaced my worn BF Goodrich Radial T/A's 245/60/15 with Firestone Firehawk 255/60/15
I put the GT springs on a few weeks before getting the new 255 tires. When I had my 245's on I had about the same space but no rub. The difference in width between the two tires is .060 according to the calculators I was looking at. I really didnt think that would make a difference. HA!

Now I get fender rub going over bumps underneath on the inner lip of the fender mainly on Drivers side... Really annoying. It doesnt seem to be cutting the tire since its hitting a flat spot on the fender and it's rubbing on the outer bit of the tread. I've been driving it this way for a few weeks..
Debating spending $220.00 on 245's up front and selling my 255's or using coil spring spacers.
I was going to try the .750 poly spacers. For a 1.5 lift at the tire. Figuring the poly might just smooth sounds out a bit anyhow Any experience with poly or cast spacers?

Should I crank the Konis? Seems like I might have left a lot of rebound control on the table at my setting.

Car is a daily driver. No Racing. Rides great.
      Thanks

I see no issue with the spacer with your use of the car. Its done hundreds of times a day with trucks!

Don't try to stiffen the suspension, its a bandaid plus if you like your current ride quality the spacer won't change that at all.

Other options....convert to coilover and never worry about pulling coils out again or go with smaller tires, if the stance is perfect then....

There are advantages AND disadvantages to both...ultimate would be coilover and smaller tires! Remember, you can always sell your old tires to regain some cash!

      Thanks Matt.
I need to come by your place. I work in Pleasanton and live in Livermore.
Coilovers might be out of the budget. Smaller tires.... I may end up putting some new 245's back on..

      Installed the G/W Poly Spacers.

.750 spacers raised the fender just about 1 1/2 inch as said. No rub, car feels tight. Turned the Konis 1/2 from full tight. I Like it. Stance looks good. Next on to the rear springs.

Will come by and check you out Matt, thanks for the input.

First one took hours. It's always hard to get the spring to compress in a straight linear vertical axis. Every time I deal with coil springs (using my spring compressor) They always tweak one way or the other. In this case getting the spring to sit in the spacer made this more critical then usual. Used racheting tie downs to pull the spring...

Second one, got lucky. It took about 1 hour! Didnt even have to lower the control arm but had the tie down ready from the getgo.
