      SMOTY: ...And the Winner Is!!

Back in my hotel room after witnessing the Goodguys Street Machine of the Year Awards. ..and the winner is: Roy Pigford's 66 Chevy II

See complete coverage of the car here:
      http://popularhotrodding.com/features/0409phr_pigford/
Runner Ups Include a CRAZY Hemi 70 Challenger built by Bobby Alloway, a slick, black 65 or 66 Mustang and two very street roddish 69 Camaros Other than the Alloway Challenger, which has an awesome Art Morrisson Enterprises Chassis, all of the other finalists used air ride Suspension

Other Highlights: Detroit Speed unveiled their easy to install and very functional 4 Link kit which features patent pending "swivel links" to completely (Yes, I said COMPLETELY) eliminate binding without resorting to heims joints. It took best product of the year awards.
      Congrats to Kyle and Stacey

Great choice, the craftsmanship is fantastic. There is a ton of money in chrome and polish there, and a little billet too!

Doesn't that make like 3 '66/'67 Novas in a row to win the SMOY? I forget last year but I thought it was a Nova to.

Sorry James, I don't. I'll do my best to dwscribe it for you:

-Lower links use forward leaf spring mount location
-Panhard bar comes with frame and axle brackets
-Links have patent pending male/female halves with captured swivels such that the ends can free rotate
-All pivot poinnts use high durometer rubber bushings.
-So the bushings and the swivels work in concert
-Looks like there's plenty of room for fat tires.
-I forgot to ask about price
Maybe Larry can get with Kyle for pix of their display unit.

Not yet.. that was the first we had heard of it or seen it. We did shoot a very nice 67 Stang fastback (the red one) that year one built for a customer.. sweet car.

Johnny takes 5 hours to shoot a car so we only get two or three per an event like this. We will be shooting the black stang and the silver GTO ASAP.
