      Little input needed, please

I'm in the planning stages of my project and need little help picking the right engine. I have a 68 firebird with no engine or tranny, just a rusted out body all I have. This car will be 99% street and only drive on sunny weekends. I am planning on swapping out print end for fiberglass fenders and hood. I have a 350+.060 now but it needs a total rebuild. Also been looking at buying a 496BBC, never had a BBC before only small blocks.
Basically I'm looking for a motor that makes 450+HP n same or more TQ. Tranny is still up n air but will be a manual. Thanks for help, to many options n no money to buy any of them. Lol

496 BBC will get you a lot more than 450 hp/tq ha ha.

Lol ya and still let me drive on cheap pump gas. Wife told me not to "over power" the car. In my world that leaves out 1000+HP twin turbo big block but I'm trying to be nice sense she is one paying for motor. Got to love a good woman like that.

I just don't know what way to go. Lsx, SBC,BBC,pontiac. I've heard good things bout Lsx engines, but I've rode in BBC powered cars n love the soybeans n torque. Mpg sucks but BBC can't be denied respect.

When I started this path I was dead set on a 6.0 with a 6 speed. After I started looking around I found some good deals on 469 and don't have to have all the computer headache like the Lsx. Have you started on your swap yet? How much of a headache is the extra wiring?
