      SCAT seats

Anyone using SCAT/Procar seats? The Sportsman,Sportsman Pro or RAVEs? Fit feel? Looking to use them in a 79 Camaro.

We've used them on the '65 Chevelle and '68 Camaro "Reloaded" cars recently, and everyone seems to dig 'em. Good support, the upholstery kinda goes with original GM '60s patterns, and they hold up well.

I will be using them in the van. They look nice and are comfortable enough.
I have an issue with the seat adjuster mechanism though. The two tracks are separate, of course, and the adjusters are linked with a piece of wire. The wire is too long on my assembly and it takes almost all of the lever travel to unlock the tracks. I am in the process of redesigning the connection to tighten it up so minimal movement of the lever will activate it.

Thanks guys. How high do they sit? Looking for some to put in my Camaro project. All my factory seats and Recaros need work. Heck by the time you buy new foams and covers for a factory seat you could buy a new one!

Factory seats weigh 33lbs I would bet my Recaros are heavier.

Here are some pics of mine mocked up in the van. The seats sit very well. I sat in one watching TV for a few hours after I got them. They are kind of stiff but you don't want cushy for a racing seat, right?
I will be building seat brackets of course. That's on the list...

I had bought a circle track and a Pro Street aluminum Kirkey and neither feel real good the side bolster feels like your arm will hit them when shifting. Stiff is fine. and the lighter the better. Think having an adjustable back will help in driver's position also

I have Procar Rallye by Scat seats. Love 'em. They are really nice, extremely comfortable, and you really feel planted in the seat. Can't see pictures of what your looking at right now, and don't remember I have my pictures, but I like them.

I'm running one on the passenger side (yeah I know weird, but I already had a Recaro for the drivers side) and really like it. Bought mine from Amazon LINK because they do free shipping even to Alaska which is about the same price as the seat itself otherwise...

The word from Procar is the RAVE seats have 1" less foam so sit lower.

I do know in my Camaro without a tilt wheel and a stick I had to remove the thigh support from my Recaro that was fine in my auto TA when they were in that car.
