      A-Body Rear Suspension advice

First I'll give a little breakdown on my car and the plans for it. I am building a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 Pro Touring car. It will be buick powered with around 550hp (crank). I am going to be running a T-56, C6 Z06 Brakes, 18x12 (335 tire) rear and 18x8.5 (265 tire if I can get it to fit) front rims. Frame is going to be stock with my own bracing welded in for the control arm area's. Car is not being built as a race car but a fun project that will handle well, throw you back in the seat when you push the go pedal and have the stance of a race car (think GT1 Lemans race car stance). I love stance so this will also be important for my build but overall performance will take priority!

For front suspension I will be running Global west style A arms with a QA1 coil over kit (I think). I have not figured out what spindle (AFX?) I will be using. Or Sway bar.

For the rear this is where I am really starting to get lost. I have been looking at all sorts of suspension setup's from stock to a rear set-up with a watts link. Accessible to myself I have a decent mig welder although my skills are not the best I am learning.

I have been reading up on speed-tech bolt on coilover kits for the A body, do you think that it would be a good idea to purchase something like this or fab my own or use a factory coil sping and shock set-up. The biggest thing is I dont want to get over my head and loose interest in the project, it happend to me once when I was going through school and I finally have some funds to divert towards it and get the ball rolling!

Keep in mind I am not building a race car just a real fun street car that I will do some lapping, auto x and drag racing with!

If you have any suggestions for front or rear suspension that are realistically budget concious (I dont need to buy a plug and play kit) that would be great! I am just working on my frame reinforcements right now and once that is done off to powdercoating and I will start on the suspension!

      Thanks,
