      Another new guy from Austin

      Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking for a while, this is a great site! I've got a '67 Camaro that I'm just getting started on. Got it up on the rotisserie (built myself) 2weeks ago. Just got a call from the guy blasting the sub-frame that it's finished and ready for paint.

The suspension forum has been a lot of help in giving me some direction and focus.

The car has been mini-tubbed and I just got the full floor pan welded in!
New rear quarters, essentially finished the rear sheet metal. Now I can finish with the underside and make some progress.

Here are the plans for the ongoing build. I'm sure that some of it will change as I keep searching here and reading old threads.

      LS1 w/ a T56 6 speed, BRP engine mounts, trans x-member
Moser 12 bolt w/ 3.73's and Eaton posi
DSE 3" lowering rear leafs, offset shackles, etc.
Touring Classics 13" front disc's and 12" rear
      Budnik Sweeper wheels, 17x11 rear w/ 315's 17x8 front w/ 245's
GW upper and lower CA's, QA1 coilovers, this could change if the ATS drop spindle is as killer as it seems.

Any input, suggestions, etc. are welcome of course. This is a Father/Son project (most of the time, if I can tear the 13 year old away from the Xbox) so it will take a while.

The rest of you Austin guys need to go up to the drive-in car show at the Home Depot on 1431 and Parmer (Saturday evenings) so we can meet and see the cars!

I've attached some pictures so I don't get the dreaded
"This thread is worthless without pictures" response. LOL

      Thanks!
      Dave

      Heh there,

I also have a 67, live in Austin, and regularly attend the Home Depot Saturday night show. Hope to meet you in person if I haven't already!

      1431 show

I was up there last weekend! There are quite a few 1st Gen's up there.
Were you driving yours? If so, I'm sure I tried to look at it!

Let me know if you're going this Saturday. I met another guy out there who is having a '67 done here in town.

I'm trying to get ideas about what color to paint mine, the whole family has different ideas ......it changes every week!

      Welcome aboard Dave.
I think that Austin has more members here than any other city. If not, they are close. The members I have met there are great folks too. Y'all should have your own section-LOL
Great looking car, Keep us updated.
