      Lokar locking TH400 dipstick ???

Need a dipstick for the TH400 in my 67 'Bird. Trans or firewall mount ??? Which is better to use ??? I remember my original dipstick was always a pain to get to.

Firewall mount for sure. Even if you make a bracket and bolt it to the head the firewall mount is the way to go. The trans mount is real short and bolt to the bellhousing down low, great in a 32 ford or super comp dragster.

FYI, the locking diptsitck bolts into the case and you will have to drop the pan to install it. The standard dipsticks just slide in from the top and are held in with orings and rtv.

+1 for the Lokar firewall mount, we used one on the '68 Camaro "Reloaded" car and it worked out well. Plus, it's black! Sometimes it's a little hard to fully seat the stick, but overall a good solution.

Might not be a big deal for you guys but for the race car people the other bonus to the lokar lock one is the little dummy plug for the trans when you take the tube out.
