      DSE Tub Quesion

I'm installing my DSE mini tubs in a 71 Nova. I've got the old one out and compared it to the DSE tub. It looks like the DSE tub is 2 inch deeper than stock, but the instructions are telling me to cut 2.5 inches. Is this correct?

Yes. 1/2" will be bent down as a flange to fasten the deep tub too. Keep reading the instructions and watching the video. There are also several good pictures from others here that have documented the install, try a search. The more you study it, the more it will make sense. It's alittle intimidating but just keep at it and you'll get it. Once you have one fit, the other will go together quick.

Sorry, but the question is are the tubs 2 inches deeper or 2.5 inches deeper than stock?

I think the instructions are a bit unclear. Even with the CD and instructions I still had to call DSE. You might be wise to give them a call before you cut just to make sure you understand.

Good idea. There seems to be a disconnect in the actual depth of the tubs. It could be my imagination though.

Whether its 2" or 5" doesn't really matter. You want to start very short and try to get the new mini-tubs to fit. Then look at where its not going in and slowly trim back, rinse and repeat until you can *just* barely get the tubs to fit in. Cutting anything more will leave an unwanted gap. The tricky part is the spot where you have to fold down a section of the floor to make a lip. Hopefully you have the DSE templates and can confirm the measurements from DSE.
