      68 firebird convertible project/builder FS or TRADE...$2750

Ok......to build a custom car much of the stock stuff is going out the window anyway. What I have here is a clean title 68 firebird convertible. The right rear quarter was dented and filled improperly with a lot of bondo. But it has no rust. The left rear quarter has been entirely replaced. Rear valance/pan is in great shape. Trunk lid isnt from this car and has some rust. There is no floor from mid-door back.

Cowl area is rust free (shocker!) including around the windshield. There is a custom rear frame in place though not completely welded into the existing platform. Will allow for tubbing with no problem, not to mention stiffen the car. No rear suspension yet....the rear is temporarily welded in place. There are gears in that rear but I dont know what they are or if its the original. No rear brakes.

It was I think a 4 spd car. You can see where the plate was bolted to the frame for the assembly (I think its called the z-bar?). Believe it has motor mounts for a chevy small block at present.

Might reduce the price a bit if you dont want those Weld Draglite wheels. They are brand new but have been sitting a long time. Tires still have the stickers on them but are dated from 2000 and 2002. LOL. In fact the rears are dryrot cracking already. Shame too....they still have the nubbys on the tread.

There are a number of ways to build this car, and my plan is to start building it over the winter if nobody wants her as she sits. The price for a nice convertible bird around here is 12-14K. Just missed out on a solid parts car for $500.....didnt see it in time. I do have 2 other projects though, so...

Use either a donor car, or the new parts available on ebay. Everything new you'd need for this car including doors, fenders, hood and core support for $2000....hell, thats with quarter panels that arent needed...might get everything from the seller for $1500 or so without those.

If you already have a project bird, upgrade to a convertible with your parts...lol

I'm asking $4000 or trades........NOW LOWERED TO $2750 1/26/2012 Things I might be interested in are firearms, cars, equipment, jetskis, motorcycles, tool chests, tools.....who knows. Cant hurt to ask me. I'll try to upgrade the pics soon. My camera broke so used my old cell phone.

Does anyone want to make me a cash or trade type offer? Will entertain all offers................I am pretty sure I'm not going to get to this project this winter at the rate my other 2 are going. This car has a clear title.

Bump for lowered price.....Lets try $2750. You cant buy a rusted out piece of junk for that...and this is a good starting point.
