Consider a Run To The Summit - Summit Point, WV

Would there be enough interest to do a 'Run To The Summit' at Summit Point next Spring, Summer or Fall?

There seem to be plenty of members in the mid-Atlantic area.

How do the RTT... events get set up?

      Summit Point - http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/i...id=16&Itemid=6 - has 4 tracks to rent/select from.

Summit Point Main - Big, high speed track - 2 miles, 10 turns
Shenandoah Circuit - Long, medium speed, lots of corners - 2.2 miles, 22 turns
Jefferson Circuit - small, low speed track
      Washington Circuit - Autocross course

BSR, that runs the track considered a Vintage Track day last year, but it never got much traction - http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/i...atid=10&id=832

      Thanks,
      Tim

You should contact Bill Howell. He runs all of the "Run To" events.

I would go if it is in the spring... after that its back to sea duty for me and boat schedules always have a way of conflicting with things.

I think this venue would be absolutely great! It would be by far the closest venue to me of anything out there, there are plenty of options with the different courses, and for a RTTX format, there's some beautiful countryside for a cruise on Friday.

Anyone else in the Mid-Atlantic area that would be up for an event at Summit Point, West Virginia? It's about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the DC beltway.

I have thought about setting up an event up there as well. I have raced there numerous times at track days and with the SCCA.

Tim...we should put our heads together and get this event rolling. I cannot tell you how many times I have thought about this and talked to my buddies about the idea. I just didnt know where to start...and I guess this is it!! I attended three RTT events this year and am very familiar with the layout of the events. If done right this could be an amazing event.

      LET'S DO THIS!!!!

btw...since there is already a RTTS...maybe it should be "Run To The Point". That's what I have been thinking.

I have raced go-karts on the big track at Summint Point, it is a nice facility and they have added a number of improvements since my last visit. I would be up for "RTTP" but Dust Off is probably two years out before it would be able to participate. If however, you need volunteers to help running an event let me know.
