My first open track session with incar vids

Our club ( Pro-Touring / G-Machine Challenge ) was invited to give a demo on the Fast-Car-Festival on the famous Dutch Zandvoort track.

We used the small track that was layed out for the drift series demo, but the corners were very tight so speed was very low....besides that the weather was bad, a lot of rain so it was slippery but we had fun.

All of us also booked a 20 minute open track session and we were lucky we had a reasonably dry track in the morning, this for me was the best part of the day.

This vids are from inside my car filmed with a GoPro HD camera, I took it slow in the beginning to get to know the track and warm the tires/get a feel for the car. Later in the session you can see I am picking up speed..... I was very happy with how the Camaro performed. (409cui SBC running on propane, TH350, 2.73:1 axle with Powertraxx)

small movies shot from the side of the track in a turn:

Lots of nice footage there, thanks for posting.
How do you like the Powertrax? I've got one in my 71 Firebird project, but it's not on the road yet.

And here you'll find my in-car vid of that particular open track session:

At 5:30 you can see the left rear wheel break from the Jag that was in my way . . . Unfortunately Mike's Camaro (the yellow one) was just a bit too far away at that point for me to hang onto and to learn to know the track. It was my first time there.

Hey Martin, the videos look good, your car seems to be doing very well with the propane. Hank Hill would be proud!

I look forward to seeing more.

I'm headed out to the Midwest musclecar challenge and Putnam Park tommorow. I will have footage of it when I get back. The Cormaro is running beter than it ever has so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it holds up good all weekend.

Hold on tight and put your foot to the floor!!!!!

thanks... Nice to hear you guys like the movies....

The Powertraxx works okay...just do not power through the corner cause you will lock it and spin (or drift) in no-time. If you know how to use it it's fine...next time I will probably use a limited slip but the powertraxx was cheap and I could install it myself.

this was filmed from the car directly behind me. I was amazed to see how fast it looks/goes compared to the Mustang behind me, I've been in that car too and it is really fast...my car feels neutral and very easy to drive and not as fast. The Mustang defenately has a lot more power....
