Exhaust idea?

After looking at all of the options available for my new 68 RS/SS, I thought it might be interesting to get some opinions on a different combination.



I was thinking about getting a set of Car Chemistry 2 or 3 disc inserts for my 3" collectors, run a 2.5" X or H-pipe, then run a set of custom 2.5" chambered mufflers to the axle, then just run 2.5" over the axle and retain the factory exit point.

I thought this would give me the maximum amount of clearance compared to traditional mufflers and I had not yet seen anyone use a combo like this. The system will be used on the mild 350 that is currently in the car and remain for a possible 383 that I may upgrade to in the future.
