      Best gears?

I just had GM's Fast Burn 385 crate 350 put into my 68 Camaro mated with a 700r4. GM states it puts out 385HP at the flywheel and I was curious what gear ratio you guys would recommend for my 12 bolt? Mainly a weekend cruiser. Also, I'm installing ridetech's 4 link with coilers if that makes a difference.

I would go with either a 3.42, or a little peppier 3.73. The 3.73 should have you at ~2500rpm at 75, depending on tire diameter.

I would go with the 3.73 with your 27" tire.

3.73 just watch the brand of gears that you install I had a new moser rearend with gears that I could not identify they whined something awful ( installed by moser and the patern was correct) I just installed a set of Motive myself and the whine is just about gone most people seam to be happy with the Motive brand.

3.73's.. i like Richmonds.. have had a few sets, the top of the line ones and all have been nice.

I've heard good and bad on Motive.

Thanks guys. I'm not familiar with Motive but I'll look into them all.

I have a 500 HP 383ci with a 700r4 and 27" tall tires running 3.89's in a 9'' rear, cruises awesome on the hwy and town. I am thinking a 4.11 or lower gear might be in the future though as I can cruise at 60mph at about 2100 rpm so a bit more rpm could be ok as I mainly drive in the city.

Yeah, thats a good point. I live in LA where its hard to get much faster than 70 because of the traffic.
