      LS1 Brake Rotor Thickness

I have the LS1 conversion up front on my '71 Camaro and am having issues. It is dragging to the point that the car does not move when put in gear, I have to give it gas and then it slows right down when the throttle is released. I pulled the aggressive pads and swapped in some cheap semi-metalic and still have the issue. The pistons are pressed in fully and the pads barely clear the rotor putting them on.

I noticed that there are two rotor thicknesses listed for these brakes- 1" and 1 1/4", I have the 1 1/4" ones. How do you know which to get, a 1/4" seems a lot of piston movement between the two.

The front rotors are 1 1/4". The rears are 1" (1.02)

Sounds like the rod between your booster & MC is too long, assuming you have vacuum assist. As a test, put a washer on each stud between the booster and the MC.

It is a manual system, but I will check the rod. I put a threaded eyelet on the brake pedal end, so it should be easy to adjust if needed.

Thanks, that fixed the issue. A fraction of an inch was all it took!
