I was checking out your install and wanted to see what you did with the oil pan, here is my 69with the same motor. The motor just clears and wanted to see how much clearnace you have under the car. What are you doing for the heat exchanger? Name: P1080804LR.jpg

Currently, I have the oil pan from the CTS-V, but it's hanging a inch or so below the crossmember. I have a TCI front subframe, which give me plenty of room, but I may end up getting a shallower pan. I haven't installed heat exchanger for the supercharger yet, but Street & Performance offers a kit that looks like it will work.

I see you've modified the underside of your hood to accomodate the engine/supercharger. Can you share some details on that operation? I put my hood back on last week, but can't shut it all the way.

What did you do for the fuel system? I'm still trying to work mine out, but I'm leaning toward the vaporworx setup.

      Your car looks great.

Sorry dude - can't just drop a single post here with a great looking project like that . Please consider posting a thread in the Project Updates section at least with some details and a few pictures for us to stare at? Doesn't have to be every step of the build but I for one would really like to know more about your car as much as I am going to follow this thread here.

      Transmission is a 6-speed automatic (6L90).

Paint is from a 2006 Lexus - called Slate Gray, I believe.

I used the Aeroautomotive fuel pump and regulator. I ran 1/2 flex fuel line from the tank but you may want to run hard line. I found that the flex line, weeps fuel smell and you can smell it in the garage. You have to tap a hole in the super charger plenum and run a 1/8 ID hose to the fuel regulator so the regulator sees boost and compensates for the added pressure. Easy to take off and the the gasket is reuseable. I also ran by boost gauge off this hose. On the heat exchanger be careful on the size because trying to package the condensor, heat exchanger and trans cooler (if you have one) gets tight real quick and installing everything gets compicated. Plas add in the hoses and swing of the headlamp assembly and you will see what I mean. I used the heat exchanger from Magnuson which has worked out pretty good. As for under the hood i have a SS hood which has the added clearance that i needed, gets tight in there real quick so no mods were necessary. For those that want me to start my own post I will post but i want to talk with someone doing a similar type of project and this way we can share information this way.

      More information

On the oil pan did you have to cut a section out and make room to clear the lower cross memeber? I am using the Hedits proG subframe and we had to do this to fit the motor. I tried to get a shallower pan but the ones i looked at all had the front portion of the pan too deep down, nothing was a shallow as the CTV pan at the front of the motor. Very tight to the steering rack. Which one did you look at? Here's few more images and to all reading i will post my own thread or you can check on LS forum on the same project Pioneer Camaro LSA. Talk to you soon.

No cutting necessary on my TCI subframe, as I have lots of room for the pan, and the rack is in front of the crossmember. Early in the project, I looked at the MAST oil pan and talked to them - they said it would fit my application, but you might give them a call. My son and I are also building a '69 Camaro for him with an LS1 motor in a factory sub-frame. Street & Performance cut down a late model Camaro pan for his application and it worked well for us. I'm not sure if it is any shallower than the CTS-V pan at the front though.

Your car looks great. Which transmission are you using - auto?

Looks like i misspoken on the subframe, we cut the oil pan to clear the subframe, no cutting of the subframe. I am using a 4L85 from Monster Transmission with a 1500 stall converter. I decided to go with a auto since the car has been going to events, Hot Rod Power Tour and the Car Craft Nationals the car gets transported on a trailer and i just do not trust the drivers to drive a a manual transmission on and off the transport. I am going to start a build thread on the car and I will list all the components in the vehicle. Thanks for the oil pan info i will look them up to see what they have to offer. Look for Pioneer Stage 3 Camaro RS SS LSA

Great motor and transmission setup. Can't wait to see videos of it running.
