      The Car Show on Speed

      Anyone watch this?

Perhaps the most horrible auto-show I've ever seen! I couldn't even finish the first show; turned it off after about 30 minutes. Everyone on the show is obnoxious, especially Adam Corolla.

The U.S. Top Gear may not be as good as the original, but it is miles ahead of the car show!

After watching it the other night, I am so very glad that Adam Corrolla didn't get Top Gear!

      HORRIBLE SHOW!

Adam Corrolla has a great way of ruining any tv or radio show. He's just not funny or entertaining, and no one is buying that he's a car guy.

I could certainly see how people might not find him funny (I felt the car show felt heavily scripted and stiff), but he is most definitely a car guy.

I am indifferent to his comedy, but Adam is certainly a car guy. John Salley? Why is he there? Looked like a Fail to me overall. Delete from DVR.

I wasn't very impressed either. John Salley has no business being on that show, not a car guy at all.

The older guy, the journalist....he really got on my nerves.

I like Adam Corolla in general, loved him on the Man Show, but he was not very funny or entertaining on the Car Show at all.

I will give it another chance, but it was pretty disappointing. No worse than Top Gear USA to me though.

Yeah, John Salley is good with sports. Stay there.

The one segment I tried to watch detailed how a GT3RS went 166 mph in the Mojave Mile. Really? That's the best you got? Probably one of the slowest times there.

The commercial leading up to the show pitching it with Adam bathing in motor oil and eating spark plugs for breakfast was the best thing about this show.

They were supposed to do 3 runs with the Porsche, and the guy kept dropping his "target speed" because he couldn't hit it. Then on the third run, they punked out and did some stupid race against an airplane. It was a waste of time.

The 24 hours of Lemons was mildly entertaining. I didn't really get the part where they were "working" on the car when the car was already good to go in the first place. But they didn't explain the race for the general public, or talk to any of the other racers.

The opening part where they talk about something for 60 seconds was pointless...answering questions that nobody asked.

I dunno.....I think Adams prediction about getting canceled might come true. I had high hopes...

Its the perfect car show for people that know nothing about cars and want to stay that way....

Never thought i'd say this but it makes me look forward to the US version of Top Gear...

Real car guys are just too hardcore for primetime TV... start a show with Steve Magnante and Stacy David crawling around a junkyard for an hour and talking about things that matter to car guys...Like building cars, racing cars, rare cars, fabrication..., hell you could even put them in front of an audience behind a fancy desk...

cruising pebble beach in a Rolls Royce is not a car guy thing... its an accountant that golfs thing (not that there's anything wrong with accountants...or golf)

Wow - the haterade is flowing strong. Personally I liked the show. Chemistry is much better than TGUSA and I think with 4 hosts they are going sidestep a lot of comparisons to TGUK as to which one is Hammond, May & Clarkson. For the first pilot, it was good. Yes, there are going to be some things to improve, but keep in mind that TGUK has been on the air for a LONG TIME and has had hundreds of episodes to nail their foremat down.

Keep watching guys! There is going to be a silver PT 1960 Corvette show up on the show soon. We filmed with Matt Farah back in January and he tested our car down in Pahrump. I've seen the footage and it is good!

I wouldn't call it "haterade" -- seems like fair impartial reviews to me, unlike yours. ;)

There were too many segments, so everything just felt a little thin and underdeveloped. The whole Sportscenter vibe makes the show seem more like a daily newscast than a must-see weekly event. Hopefully it is just the team jamming a bunch of stuff into the 1st episode to see what works and what doesn't, and do the filtering in later episodes. It's easier to take stuff out than put stuff in. And take them away from that desk...who sits at a desk to talk about cars?

They have a great team of natural presenters. I think Salley will be good for the show if he just becomes more vocal....not everyone needs to be equally knowledgeable (and the show may have more versatility with someone who is a bit less of a gear head), but he was just too downright quiet.

Props to Farah, always been a fan and he deserves to be a rising star. The Car Show definitely neutered him a bit, but I'm sure he will be able to adapt.

TGUSA is coming right along too. The guys are starting to loosen up on camera; and given the higher production value of their show, I think they are still the American show to beat.

I think anybody that is a fan of BBC's Top Gear wouldn't be necessairly an impartial judge, not saying you are, but most fans of that show are and will hold any new car show to a higher standard. Knowing Matt Farah and camera guy Tom Morningstar might make me less impartial, but if anything, it's given me a chance to see how they work behind the scenes and see all the footage that they have shot of our car. If it blows chunks on the show - I will definitely let you know, bceause of the 20 minutes of footage that I have seen with our car, it is good stuff and Tom is good at what he does.

Give this and TGUSA a year or two to work out the kniks and they will both be great! Just remember these first episodes are the pilots (for The Car Show anyway).

At Mr. Vengance - LOL @ the Fran Drescher pic. I think she and Corolla need to have a sitcom together!

I think the show is pretty shallow also. How about a version of American Pickers but only cars?
