      Header cleaning

I have some Dougs ceramic coated headers, with zero miles. And about 30 minutes run time.
They have been on the engine for several months while I get everything else going.
They have some surface rust that wont come off, Dougs told me to use CERMA-GLOW paste, but no help.

Can I use 2000 grit sandpaper or will that take off the ceramic coating.
      Any ideas?
Pretty disappointed with these $600. headers.

      Thanks.

Honestly, that's why I returned my Dougs coated headers and bought Dougs headers coated by Thermal Tech. I love the fitment and quality of the headers, but was very unhappy with the coating right out of the box. I refused to install them.

There should not be any surface rust - period. I would remove them and return them.

Thanks, but I am stuck with them, since its been a few months since purchased.
I tried some Wicked products metal polish and about 70% cleaner.

I would absolutely contact Dougs. This should be a warranty issue. That finish should not rust. Period. Somebody from pertronix/dougs sometimes hangs out here. Telling you to polish them is total bs. They should fix the coating, unless they're all scratched up by abuse. IMHO, nothing but recoating would be acceptable.
