Got the column and wheel setup all in and now chasing down an electrical gremlin.
The Lokar shifter has a control box with the nuetral safety switch in it.
Found out I have no juice coming out of the relay so I'm assuming it's bad.
Try and pick one up at the local parts store tomorrow. Hopefully that fixes it.

Quick call to Lokar today to help with what I thought was a bad relay.
Turns out the relay will not work until the control box is programed.
Spent a few minutes programing and everything works and fires right up.
Big thanks to Steve at Lokar for walking me through it. Great customer service.

      Spoke too soon.
The digital indicator unit lights up on the start position but turns off on the run position.
Lokar is trying to find a solution as we speak.
There is power going into the decoder box and the relay in the run position but the decoder box and indicator are turning off in the run position.
      More tests tomorrow.

Well the Camaro is offically on the road. Got the registration and plates today.
Didn't waste time, drove around the neighborhood. Fixed a few small thing's.
Taking it out on the highway tomorrow. Everything seems pretty tight.
Hope to take it to the local car cruise this saturday, Whiskey Cafe(great name) is the host for several hundred cars every sat night.
1970 suspension & brakes perform as I expected them to.
Next week starts the Hotchkis & Kore-3 conversion. Should be an amazing differance. Can't wait.

Thanks Sean, I have been having a great time the last couples of days blasting around in it.
Good thing you didn't go to the Whiskey Cafe this last sat.
The car club that runs it didn't have it for some reason.

Figured while I'm about to replace every part of the entire brake system I might as well replace the brake lines with stainless steel.
Easier now then later. Posted on the brake section to see if anybody has used Inline Tube. They have a full replacement kit in either OEM or s/s.
$185 for the full kit is cheap I think for s/s. I also like the fact that they have the correct spring wrap on the lines just like the factory used.

Ok, the car is on the road and getting ready to start setting up the new suspension & brakes.
Have been working 12 hour days all week and will have to do the same next week. Long weekend coming up though and should make lots of progress next weekend. While I was driving around the other day I started to think "what if I get a flat?". So this week I stated to research what spares will fit over the Z51 big brake kits. Found out the GTO space saver spare will fit over the rears but not the fronts.
Talked to Tobin over at Kore-3 and he's looking for a solution also. Found out that the Cadillac CTS has an 18" spare.
Pretty slick looking. Still checking into if it will fit correctly.

Kept thinking and realized I will need a jack and found this kit for the GTO.
Includes jack, wrench, and collapsible wheel chocks. Found one on ebay for $32 shipped.
Now, just have to make a perch under the car to accept the scissor jack. I want to update the trunk and build in the spare and the jack kit.

It is funny how GM can't design a decent looking wheel for most of their car/truck and SUV offerings, but they will put out a spare like that. If that spare had some lip and was about 11 inches wide, it would be a killer wheel.

It is the best looking spare I have ever seen.
The jack kit fit perfect in the trunk. Once I build it in and cover, it should look factory.

      Project 70 RS

I'm looking to do a radio on a 70 camaro and I was wondering if you had front speakers and if so how you have those mounted and what size they were.

      Thanks Austin

I actually have no stereo in the car yet.
For now I will use the music of the motor.
Future plans include an ipod and speakers.

Okay that Brembo caliper has my attention - what size caliper/rotor is on there?

Will that spare fit over the 09+ CTS-V spare?

      I think the Brembo's are about 14 1/4".
Cadillac makes 2 differant sizes spares, 18" & 19". The 18' are for the CTS-V up until 2007(2nd gen CTS).
19" are for the 2008 & up CTS-V's because they run 19" wheels.
Alot of the Corvette guy's are using this spare with an M&H frontrunner racing tire for drag racing.
It supposedly with fit over the Z-51 brakes with no spacer. Not sure about the Z06 calipers.
Some people say it does. I have ordered one and will post pictures and measurements once I have it.
I have a Z06 template from Kore-3 and will check when it comes in.
To fit my Camaro I have to get an adapter for it. I don't mind because it's just the spare and I won't be driving it except in an emergency. Plus IT'S COOL AS HELL LOOKING!!!!!!!!! You won't find a better looking spare out there.

Cool - yeah post up the specs when you get them.

I'm interested in this because now the I have 09+ CTS-V wheels/brakes on my G8 - I no longer have a spare for the front....

Best $300 I ever spent. I love clean parts to work with.
