      Dumb @ss Idiots rant

The pitfalls of having any nice kind of car are the idiot drivers. You know the ones; You park your car in the far end of the parking lot to avoid door scratches, and some doorknob goes out of his way to park his beater 6" from your car, even though there are 400 other parking spots, closer to the door of the mall/store.

So last weekend, I am fueling up the beast. Yes it has the filler in the very back, so I have to be ahead of the pump, so the hose reaches. Not only that, but I need to crouch down, and watch, so the fuel doesn't spit out.

Clue number one, this idiot in an astro van, comes incredibly close to sideswiping me, while he pulls into the gas station.

I figure, he is going to pull a U turn and go to the next (free) island.
      Nope.

Then I see him backing up in front of my car.
      I think dumb @ss
      He gets out and looks.
I figure that he has now realized, that there is no way the pump will reach his vehicle. He'll have to wait.
      Nope.

He gets back into the pile of crap and starts backing up towards the front end of my car.
      I figure he's gonna stop.
      Nope.
He's getting closer, he has to stop.
      NOPE
Finally he looks like he is going to hit me.
I YELL at the top of my lungs "HEY!"
I walk around to the front of the car, and his pile of crap is 6" (no $#!t) from my bumper.

I lose it, and call him a FU(KING DIPSH!T in my construction voice.

He says something dumb, like "I never was close"

Then dipstick #2 pipes up from the adjacent gas bar, "calm down, he never hit you!"

I was going to get into it with dipstick #2, then decided I was not going to win an argument with morons.

Yeah like I should have ignored the bozo, let him hit my car, push it into me so the back of my car rolls over me with the gas pump, in my hand.

6" from my car, and the gas hose wouldn't reach his pile of crap, add to that there was a free gas pump on the other side.
I don't care if I hurt his little idiot feelings, maybe he'll think twice next time.

      /end rant

      Can't fix stupid.....

A few years back I had a 48 chevy pickup. I called it my daily driver (really, the only vehicle I owned that ran), some would call it a rat rod I guess. Point is, aesthetically it wasn't real pretty with about 6 different paint jobs on it all burned through. So I take my lovely wife to the PizzaHut for some fine dining and when we leave I find a compact car parked RIGHT next to my door. i could tell that the owner of this car had made a habit of this as his doors looked like they had gone a couple of rounds with a ball peen hammer. I have respect for all things automtive so I tried and succeded to get into my truck as carefully as I could but when I settled into the seat I was really pissed about the ignorance of this clown. So I threw my door open as hard as I could.......about six times. It was pointless but I sure did feel better and the best part was my old chevy (like a effin rock!) sustained no damage.

I hope my stupid story makes you feel a little better.

      "Can't fix stupid..."

I was at Supercar Sunday and some spectator thought it was ok to open a show car hood. Problem was it was someone else's car! Just a little yelling ensued.

I tow a big a** boat on occasion. Can't believe how many people think it's OK to change lanes in front of me on a downhill w brake lights ahead of us...!

Well I work in Bloomington Indiana, and now drive a pos cavalier a friend gave me as I was riding my Buell and my truck was having issues and he said if I needed it he would give it to me.
Now its not pretty, surface rust, primer and such. But it is good to have friend who tow vehicles. I was at local store and two wise ass guys parked about 4 in from each side of car,,,so ai call my buddy on police force and ask him if I pay to move cars is it illegal, he says no but wait Ill come ticket them. well he wrote 4 or 5 vehicle violations per and made his case on all ofthem and parking too close ,,THEN my friend who works for tow company impounded both! Seems stupid drivers get pissed when stuff happens to theirs but not yours. Cost both of them about $200 in tickets and $150 in tow bills and impound fees,,,,very funny to me .

      ^^nice

I got questioned by more than a few vintage mustang enthusiasts, about using expensive big brakes, when the disc/drum combo, was more than enough, in their opinion.

Yesterday, an extremely dumb woman, decided that she was going to do a U-turn, in the left lane of a freeway, at 70 mph. (at an emergency police turn-out)

The problem, for me, was that I was following 2 SUV's and didn't see what was happening. Then the brake lights came on. I didn't expect a complete shut down, so I slowed at first, then had to pretty much panic stop.

Thanks to the large brakes, despite my slow reaction, I was able to stop safely, under control, and out brake the two vehicles in front of me, leaving me about 20' short of hitting the suv in front of me.

The only damage was my ear-drums from my wife screaming.

      Anyway, thanks baer!

Annoying because, even if I crashed, the woman who cause the problem, would have been in the U-turn lane, out of harms way.

I drove a tractor-trailer for ten years, largely in lovely cities like San Francisco, Sacramento, and LA. I also used to drive a shiny car that made me think about scratches in parking lots. I removed both of these things from my life, along with all kinds of stress...

My Falcon will look like crap for years, for a couple reasons:

      1. I don't want to attract any more attention than a working 48 year-old car already does.

      2. The stress of potential paint damage or the ability to notice door/body dings bothers me; the cost bothers me too, but we can learn to do things we want done. At any rate, my car will continue to look like crap. The new roll bar will be quite pretty, however, just like the gold oil pan and the shiny new pump underneath.

Beauty is a target. Period. Yes, this makes me kind of a paranoid dork, but hey, it's why I bought my wife a stun gun...

We always pay for the choices we make, good or bad. I'll shut it now.

I've had a few moments with idiots like that. Had some lady and her kids slam their door into my car as I was trying to get out. I told her she needed to watch her kids and teach them a little respect for other people. She got mad at me and started yelling. I called her a few choice names and went into the dining establishment. about 15 minutes later some stocky sawed off punk walks in and yells "who's the stupid mother f$#%^&er who disrespected my wife?" I stood up and started walking towards him. He went out to his car and got a baseball bat. I kept walking towards him (I am trained well in hand to hand combat). I told him what happened and that she started yelling @ me for saying anything about it. Lucky for him he turned around, pissed at his wife gor calling him out against someone MUCH larger than he, and left. All because this stupid broad couldn't handle the fact that I called her out for having rude and thoughtless kids.

This is just one of many stories involving parking lot / gas station encounters. I am not one to hold my tongue (well, I am more so now that I am married), but I call people out all the time.

Lol I can't do that. If someone were slowly getting close to my truck I'd sit back till they touch to flip for sht haha but if it were my car I'd have no problem calling someone a stupid fck lol they probably wont understand cause their car isn't worth anything to them. Most of the public usually has no idea how to react if you start throwing loud abusive language around and if you do it for good reason it can be entertaining haha.

Usually I am pretty polite, but when people mess with my things...

I had just bought a new chevy truck (first and only new vehicle ever!)a few years ago and stopped by the post office and was sitting in the truck and some dude pulls beside me and swings the door onto my truck! I was livid!! I get out and yell dude!!! You just slammed your door into my truck!!! He said he didn't. I yelled you freaking shook my truck!!! He shrugged his shoulder and walked off. It was all I could do to not go and kick in his door, but I refrained.....and turned the other cheek. Prolly wouldn't have done that a few years ago!!

My mom has an '86SS and just had it repainted at the time. She used to work for a cable company and parked her car in the furthest lot where nobody parked. She came out from work one day and someone had placed a box on the hood of her car to open their door I guess, and then SLID it off as they put it into their own car. Never did find out who it was... I'm sure it was some customer with their new cable receiver in that box.

Same thing here in Atlanta. Thankfully my trailer brakes work very well (even with them on one axle only). That little lever on the brake controller is a genius idea, nice to be able to apply full trailer brakes for said idiots.

I hear ya. And I'm glad that other people also have to deal with them.

I had a combination of a couple of these responses....
Parked way back clear of everyone else, came back to my car to find a woman had parked next to me (about 100 empty spaces around us) then she'd been shopping and had her shopping bag on the trunk of my car while she was stuffing around in her trunk.
I walked up, picked up her bag and tossed it on the ground at her feet (with nice breaking glass sounds in it) then got in my car and backed out and left...never said a word to her, but I think she got the message.
