Repaint it that color, ditch the rear spoiler, oversized rally II's and we have Jim Rockford protouring style!
There are 2 factors in Autocross, Tires and the loose nut behind the wheel.

Looks like a fun build. What are your plans?

I agree...ditch the rear spoiler and go super slick on the body. The 79-81 Firebirds have the lowest cd of any 2nd gens.

Some of my plans for the car I am building a 400 with a six speed trans a 4 link rear I am thinking about one from ridetech mini tubs with 335 18 on the rear, roll cage, not sure what brake setup going to run yet and also going to flush mount the front and rear windows.I was thinking about a 70-73 front clip and back glass what do you guys think should I leave it all 79? If I went with 70-73 front clip I have a cool idea for the rear of the car with a center exit exhaust .

I never liked the front end of the 79-81's, but I do like the rear end. I would built custom taillights that are smoothed and move the license plate up like on the mid 70's cars. I am wanting to do a Center Mount Exhaust on my 1974, but the gas tank is going to cause you problems unless you go with a small fuel cell. If you can pull it off, I would love to see it.

Look at some late model sedans that run the fuel tank up behind the rear seat....put a filler in one of the quarter panels. That'll free up the tank area for a pair of mufflers and centre outlets.
Please yourself on the nose...I like them all. If you go the early nose, a nice way to balance it out is to use a 74/75 rear bumper....it works well with the early nose, which the 79+ bumper doesn't.
