EZ Idle Issues

The ez fuel injection started out working fine, then started having issues with acceleration and not getting fuel which turned out to be bad fuel pump that they replaced. Got new fuel pump reprogrammed and runs fine on initial drive. When I restart the car it is hard to start and seems to search for an idle. I was told to check the IAC and make sure it was below 20. The IAC is below 20 when I do the initial drive after adjusting the blades and don't cut the car off. Once I cut the car off it starts searching again. Tech line said to adjust the blades during warm up and it keeps the IAC below 20 until I cut the car off and attempt to start it again. I have change the distributer springs, checked for exhaust leaks, connections tweaked the blades after driving it still does not work. If anyone has any suggestions please help.

This may seem obvious but what the heck...is it wired so that the ECM is being switched on and off with the key,or is it possibly cutting the power so its not saved to memory? I would also check vacuum. How big of a cam are you running? I have had some intermittent idle issues,but know that my initial timing may be the cause of that .

ECM hooked directly to battery, 10 +lbs of vacuum with comp cam 12-771-8. Going to go through all of the wiriing and recheck every hook up this afternoon.

Ported vacuum to the regulator? Correct fuel pressure? Also,make sure the is no compromise on any of the ground wires....only good,firm cleanly connected,no rust or paint around contact. Beyond that i am kind of stumped,other than a faulty o2 sensor. Next step would be tech supp at fast.

Finally got someone at tech that figured out what the problem with the efi. Basically the cam doesnt produce much vacuum at idle. I had to do the initial tune at 1400 rpm to get enough vacuum to satisfy the ecu. After the I drove the car I began dialing the idle back and adjusting throttle blades a little at a time. I ended up having to reset the ecu a couple of times until I figured out that the car can function well at 950 rpms and icu at 10- 12. Every tme I tried to get below 900 it would begin searching for an idle when I would restart it. Since I have set the Idle at 950 the more I drive it the easier it idles and the better it runs. When I had a carb the idle was around 850 so its not that different. If it stays running well it will be worth every penny.

Would a vacuum accumulator between the manifold and vacuum sensor help?
It won't increase the amount of vacuum you have, but it may provide a steadier or more consistent reading for the vacuum sensor at idle.
It may also change how quickly the computer can respond as the engine sees different loads, but may be worth a try.
