      61-64 Impala steering box ???

Does any one know the size of the sector shaft on a stock steering box of a 61-64 impala?

And or what the size is of the shaft on the Lee 670 box?

I want to switch o the Lee box but am trying to find out how much is involved in the swap

Call Lee and ask. I talked to them about one for my 64 and he was going to check on some adapter plate and call me back. I guess we both got side tracked he didn't call and I forgot about it also.

I know using the 605 box some guys were having radiator interfernce issues(Late Great has a Griffen notched for it) so let us know how it goes. My 64 project is down the list on my projects.

Not super high performance, but we are putting a Classic Performance Products box on a 60 right now. We have their 500 series boxes on a bunch of tri fives and have been real happy with them. For a street cruiser they are great.

Oh yeah, no adapter needed, they bolt right on. they also have a drag link kit that comes with a pitman arm and idler and eliminates the old style adjustable ball and socket thing on the drag link.

I was wrong it wasn't the 605 it was CPP's 500 box that was causing radiator inteference for some guys.

      So your 500 fit OK?

I used a 500 in my 62 Biscayne, I ground off the top rib that was touching the radiator, was getting worried about how much meat was left to grind off, but made if flush with the body and there's a 1/4 clearance between the box and rad.
