      reverse lockout solenoid

Can anybody help me out? Should the pin on the reverse lockout solenoid move in at all if it is not energized?Mine does,it does but takes a little force.I dont think it should, which is why it will shift into reverse without being energized. Is there a adjustment that I dont know about? The tranny is a t56 w/B&M shifter. Thanks for any info

In my experience you can get them into reverse without engergizing the solenoid. It takes a little force and you definitely know you are doing it. I wouldn't think you really could go into reverse by accident.

I hooked mine to energize off the brake light switch. When you have the key on and the car off you can hear the solenoid click when you step on the brake.
