what power window kit to use?

I am looking to put power windows in my 72 camaro. After some research I am more confused than before I started. Should I just buy all original regulators and motors or has anyone used a good aftermarket kit. I have been looking at the kit from electric life but have heard good and bad things about it. I would appreciate any info!

Nu-Relics all the way! I installed their kit in my 47 Ford, bolted right in, perfect fit.

Thanks! That's what I love about this site. I had not even looked at a Nu-Relics kit before.

Musclerodz seems to have the best prices on Nu-Relics kits that I have found and they are a sponsor.

Nu-Relics is a direct bolt in replacement for whatever vehicle you have. No fabrication, nothing. A perfect fit every time.

They use American made Delco motors. For me that is a big difference.

      Mike,

Do you have any photos of the two standard available window switches?

I have the electric life units in my '73, they're OK but not great. The windows go down like a rocket, fast and hard. Coming up is the problem, the motors don't seem to have enough torque or gear reduction. Coming up they are slow and weak.

If someone else tries out the Nu-relics or another brand on a second gen Camaro, let me know how they are please. I'm still working on my'72 trying to finish it this summer. I have a set of factory power windows but really don't like the switches and I've been told that the aftermarket switches will not hold up or work with them. I may wire up a relay system to use whatever switches I like with the factory units, but if the kit from another manufacturer is cheaper than this route I'll consider it. I will need new or rebuilt motors for the factory set-up so it will be pricey to do also. No more Electric-Life units for a second gen. for sure.

For those of you with Nu-Relics, can you do the fronts first and add the rears later on (buying them separately)?

Yes... however, the four window wiring kit and swicthes would make it a little easier for the later addition, vice that running the two seperated harnesses.
