      Stepped headers

Getting ready to make a set of headers for My 65 Chevy II With a KB LS2 and a DSE clip since the DSE headers will not work with my 4l80E...(%$#@^) anyway what size should I go with and should I make them stepped headers. What is a good company to get LS flanges and v bands and collectors?

Burns collectors are way nicer but three times as much as the SW merge collectors. Burns flanges are cnc machined and are super to work with. Burns also has a better selection of tubing, they offer several CLR for different diameters. I like stepped headers because it's real easy to make that lap weld instead of a butt weld......on a street car with mufflers it likely won't matter much.

Your a busy guy, what's tomorrow? Upholstery? :-)

Size: 150.8 KBStepped headers with matched lengths for all of the tube lengths is not a trivial exercize. Count on quite a bit of time to get them finished. If you make your own headers with mandrel bends cut into pieces you will have many butt welds and either 2 or three laps welds per port (depends on how many steps you use). You only get lap welds where the different tubes lengths come together. Another source for flanges and merge collectors is SPD.

      Good luck
