      Kustom pedal car...

I took a few weeks off from my chevelle (before i start the long road of body & paint) to get a few things done around the house and to "fix" up this 59' Murray pedal car for my son Jack. I found it last week on craigslist after looking quite a bit. It was originally a firetruck, but i decided to make a hot rod out of it for him. I originally intented to build a frame and make it a gasser style push car. After seeing that he could actually pedal it, i decide to scrap the gasser idea and leave it a pedal car... with a removable handle to help push him along at car shows.... I wanted to make it look like a well worn kustom hauler, like we see at many shows... complete with a heavy metal flake dash. Kind of a "in-complete resto" from the 60's. anyway... Enjoy!

Primed, painted then red scuff pad to get the right look... just got to know when to stop

every cotter pin/ nut a bolt was replaced with stainless parts... the dogdish caps were lightly sanded and cleared to capture the "patina"

Way Cool Kevin! haha.... i'll try to get some more pics posted for you. My wife is sewing a mexican blanket seat cover to go with the whole theme and I still need to add a push bar to help him along...
