Mustang II

Anyone here have a Mustang II? A friend has one that wants to turn it into a G-Machine. I need pics if available. Thanks, Rod

Alot of the suspention parts fit from the 74-80 Pintos. Racer Walsh is a good place to start for mods.

any of the 4 lug wheels from Fox body Mustangs to Fairmonts to T-Birds will fit. Wilwood makes big brakes as well as any of the brake companys. The street rodders have been doing all the R&D for that.

Be sure it has an 8 inch rear end. You can swap one from a late model Pinto,Maverick,Comet,Bobcat. They are all bolt ins. The Maverick will have 5 lugs in the later years and will fit in the 4 lug housing.

If he has a 4 banger tell him to keep it and get a turbo engine from a T-Bird or Mustang. The wiring harness from the Merkur is the best way to go since it is a stand alone system, The Brown injectors are the best too. Turboford.com is a wealth of info on that.

I have always wanted to do a super Coupe engine in a M11 or Pinto. They can be had pretty cheap right now. Just have to mess with the wiring.

I would start with getting the suspention sorted first. All new bushings/springs/shocks. P-S-T.com has everything. If he has some extra $$ to spend he can get the tube control arms form streetrods. If you pick up any of the streetrod mags you will see dozens of them in the ads. 2 inch drop spindles are cheap now too. I picked some up on eBay for $140.00 brand new. Good looking parts for the cash.

From there its all in howmuch you want to spend. The skys the limit.
