      What is this???

      I bought this car trailer a year or so back.....it has this mount on the front for something, anyone know what its for???.....I want to paint the trailer and I wouldnt mind cutting it off and not dragging around the extra weight of that plate steel.....D

      It's a bracket for a winch. I have the exact same plate for my winch.

      I'm sure it fits multiple winches, but I know it to be the Harbor Freight 2000 pound one. Sure glad we upgraded from that toy!

      I would keep it, the weight won't really make any difference. One day you will wish you had a winch (been there, had to load with come-along). I'm adding a winch to my trailer.

      If you look next to the battery box you'll see a vertical mounted 2x2 hitch receiver....my winch is mounted on a plate which is welded to a ball mount and slides in the receiver.....its removable and just isnt there in the pic.....D
