      Small business question....

So I'm starting my own side business doing laser engraving sandblasting and I'm trying to figure out what the best way is to process CC payments.

I'm not planing on processing over $1000/mo. normally but sometimes I might go over $3000 a month.

Intuit has the option of $19 per month to process cards with quick books.
      - 0.27 cent per transaction plus the 1.64/2.44% per transaction.
or online process without Quick books for $13/mo 0.30 cent transaction and 1.9/2.9% fees

Well checking out the Intuit page I see they have a mobile app process service. No per mo. fee if I stay under $1000.00 with 0.30 cent transaction and 2.7/3.7% fees. Or over $1000 $13/mo. 0.15 cent transaction and 1.7/2.7% fees.

What are the pros/cons of using a mobile app other than the fees?

Another option is I can use my bank and lease a CC terminal at $35 a month (that's high I think) and pay a $15/mo processing. The bank has a lower % per transaction fee of 1.6-1.9% and 1.9-2.1%.
With the bank I can buy my own terminal too.

The next question is book keeping:
Should I use something like Quick books ($190)to track everything?

Any ideas you might have would be great.

I forgot most of the merchant services I've looked at take 2-3 business days to process the payment. My bank has next day funds with the payment.

Paypal credit card processing was great till we blew past the amount of gross income they could handle. But they offered instant funds, a debit card on the account, low fees and cash back on debit card purchases.

Yep, I would say PP biz account unless it's a major operation.

Do PP -- it's a win all around. I had a merchant account setup for processing CC's and it was nothing but a pain -- especially if your volume isn't that high -- they get you with all sorts of fees, contracts and other things.

PP is smooth sailing all the way -- and their customer support if you are doing decent volume is great.

      Hope that helps
