Project P-40
Ok the wife helped me out so much in so many ways to get to RTTS that it's pay back time. We have let her car sit way too long. So now the attention turns to her car. It is a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser. Kinda. When you look at it there has been a ton of body work done to it. None by us really. But we are going the PT route with the build so I figured let's start a build thread. I hope to start on it this week. I need to take the front suspension apart. Needs new bushings and springs, plus I need it off to get at the clam shells better. We will be using an Oldsmobile engine. A simple 350 to start. But after blowing mine up we are looking at a dual engine build. We think if we are building 2 cars why not do both engines at the same time. We already have wheels and tires for it. The wheels we got off Craigslist and were told they were BMW wheels. We think they look great on the car. We went very conservative with tires. The fronts are 225/40-18's and the rears are 245/40-18's. We have a ton of parts to throw at this car right away so plenty to do. Now when we got the car it had a paint scheme that just wasn't to our liking. But we looked at the car and saw the long nose and short windshield and saw a WWII fighter. So we shot it with some OD green paint just to see how it looked. And we think it brought the cars character out. We are considering P-40 style sharks teeth and a bomber girl somewhere. Anyway all I can think to say now so here is the car.

And a rendering someone did for us.
