      LS Valve Covers

If you were to buy a cast aluminum valve cover for your LS what are your choices, if you could change what's available what would you like to see in a valve cover.

      Thanks

Something like this but with provisions for hooking up a factory pcv system. I currently have these on my car. I had them painted to match the exterior of the car. I was running a breather in the filler hole, but realized that by doing so I was allowing unmetered air into the engine and it was causing a slight idle problem. I am now drilling holes in my nicely painted valve covers so I can hook up the pcv system like gm designed it.

Pat, have you received them yet? If so, hows the quality? The only other covers around the price range are the CHEVROLET ones.

I have the chevrolet valve covers and just so you know that price of 119.99 is for only one valve cover. Great gm quality cover .

The Katech valve covers do make provisions for the PCV (wet sump option)

THe price on the Chevrolet valve covers cheaper than many after markets, but don't be too fooled. The price of 120.00 is "Per valve cover"....so the real price for two of them is 240ish

The GM cover looks pretty nice and is very resonable in cost, I'm looking for what your ideal cover would be, so far one with a PCV provision would be nice, an taller then stock, i dont think i could beat the GM price and i do run a foundry.

Dont worry Rick. I have enough ideas for a valve cover that it will only cost about $1k by the time you're done.

Shannon, Yes there are really nice. They came with the gaskets and bolts. Look real good on the engine too.
I will try to take a picture this weekend for you.

Was looking at the LSx 454 valve covers. Aside from the graphics (not sure if that's cast in?) and color combo looks like a good tall shape, similar to Nasty billets that are available.

Edit: I did a search and the LSx logo is engraved...

These are the new style Chevy like on the LSX454 and 376 crate motors. GM quality. I bought a set and was very happy especially for the price. You can also get them with The chevy logo, camaro, pontiac and a few others!

Nope, 291.00 for the set. I did a google shopping search and came up with those guys. I ordered and less than a week later they were at my door. They have all of the baffles and pcv connections just like the stock covers. I was impressed and even though I prefer the Katech's, these looked almost as good for almost half the price!
