Finally i found a forum worth registering to. Well new to this forum, i have a 73 455 ram air firebird that i finally aquired after 3 years of trying then finally got it after almost missing out on it. i have had this car for 7 years with absolultly no problems. Well its been 10-12 years since it was reastored last and now its time again to freshen her up. Thats why im here, Searched around last nite for wheel fittment for TT 2's, 17x7 in front and 18x9 in the rear Still haven't figured the BS

Welcome to the site, Jimmy. Post up some pics of the bird if you get a chance. I love early 2nd gens. As for the TTIIs, I'm not an expert on second gens, but if you're looking to go wider, I'm almost positive you can fit a wider wheel than a 17x7 up front. You can probably stuff a 17x9.5 up front with a 275 with the right backspacing. Hopefully one of hte 2nd gen f-body guys will chime in as I've seen several cars with 275s up front. You might be able to get an 18x10 out back also. Check out the wheel fitment database here, there may be some info:

There are a few of us on here with early 2nd Gen (70-73) 'birds.
Do a search on Streetking and look at his red 73 T/A or look at
Yodi's car at Formula454.com! Both gorgeous cars!
Streetking is running 18s on his 73... 255/40/18f with 4.5"bs and
295/35/18r with 5.5"bs without any mods and no rubbing!
17-inch rims would be about the same but with taller sidewalls...
245/45/17f and 285/40/17r with 4.5"/5.5" bs are common.

Welcome aboard. The other boards are not bad either. I see Beebe and OldFM from the PY board. That's were I spend most of my time these days as "Formula8"

I have 17 X 8's with 5" back space up front. If I had it all over to do again and I just might, I would seriously measure out for the 9.5's but a 8" wheel with 4.5" of back space is just about perfect.

I run 17 x 9 with 275/40/17 front and rear. I am running 5 3/4 BS on front and 5 1/4 BS on rear. I have rubbing on the sway bar on the driver's side at full turn but in real world it has mot every been a problem, other than the shiny spot on the bar messing up the red paint.
