      Drive by Wire Conversion Help

I have been searching for the last hour and cant seem to find what I need. I ordered a new PSI harness with drive by wire so I can get rid of the ugly wire on the firewall.

I know I need a new DBW throttle body and pedal and the box that goes between them.

Question is where do I get it and does anyone have a part number that I can order from GM or get from a junkyard? Which pedal from what year/model car do I need?

      Please help

      John

ok so after searching for 3 hours Im starting to think it is going to be a big PITA to do this and that my cable throttle is way cheaper.

Nice looking setup they have, anybody know if this will work with the Holley Dominator EFI?

From what I've found after researching this for my DBW conversion ff you are using a 12200411 PCM (which is the best choice for ony 24x setup) you have the choice of using the 97-04 corvette TAC module and pedal with the Corvette calibration or the 2000-2002 truck TAC and pedal with the truck calibration. The pedal, TAC and calibration can only be used as a set. The later truck stuff, 2003-2007 is not a good choice as you cannot use the passenger car throttle bodies like the 90mm LS2.

Good luck finding a Corvette TAC module, for some reason they are scarce and GM dealers will only sell them if you have a VIN. flea-bay prices are in the $200 range when they pop up. Avoid any used pre 2000 TACs as they had problems.

      Truck TAC module GM#12574221
Corvette TAC 12578953 or perhaps 19245405
      Corvette pedal 12565643

Don't know the part #s for truck pedals, theres at least a couple variations of them depending on options.

Later DBW setups integrate the TAC into the PCM. These setups require additional hardware for cruise control (if thats something you want)

I am using the 411 PCM with Corvette TAC and pedal on my 540 BBC.

John at Speartech had the pedal, harness, and TAC module for Vettes - he probably has ECM's too. Do some digging on LS1tech.com for how-to's on converting the throttle body or probably pick up an appropriate DBW throttle body.

it's a lot of chump change if you just want to hide the throttle cable. Good luck.

FWIW I modified my truck pedal to fit my car by cutting off the arm and making my own in the correct lenght with a piece of 1/4" steel.
