      Tire sizes for 18's

Got a set of Boss 338's (18x8 & 18x9.5) comin this week for my budget driver El Camino and need to know what the best tires size for the least cost I should go with? I was thinking either a 225/40, 235/40 or 245/40 for the front and either a 275/40 or a 285/35 rear? Will a 225 be enough tire on an 8" rim? My truck sets low and I need to watch my fender lip when turning, thats why I might go a bit smaller front then I have now (17x8 with 245/45/17).
      Thoughts?

I had Nitto NT555 (245/40-18 front, 295/45-18 rear) on my Elky for quite a few years. The wheels were 18x8 and 18x10. For the front I recommend the 245/40-18 as the smallest size for a 18x8. On the rear, the 285/35-18 might look a little short but will work fine on a 9.5" wheel.

Could also run a 284/40 on the rear. Won't look short.

I have the same set as you and have nitto NT555 225/40 and 285/40 tires.
The 225/40 fits fine with a straitght sidewall. The 285/40 has a slight sidewall bulge. I think they look great.

      Good luck.
