      Porsche idle issue

Hey guys, my DD is having a little trouble and I'm not 100% sure what it is.

When the car starts, the idle is really low, 8-900rpm, and has a bad rumble (misfire? 3 cylinders running?), but when the car gets out of idle (the slightest tap of the accelerator), and the car comes right back to life, no loss of power, nothing.

My Dad told me to do the plugs and wires, and that's what I was originally thinking, but my uncle told me it might be a vacuum leak, which is why I decided to ask here...

      Any help?

Could be a vacuum leak. Dirty throttle blades? Weak coil?

My DD is a 996. Just went to my Porsche specialist today with an unrelated issue but as always he got the laptop out first. If yours is a 964 then I'd start with plugs leads and visual inspection first....Loose T/B carb/intake bolts may give you the vacuum issue you suspect...good luck with the P car...

If things get complex Renlist and Piston heads are good sources of info and P car gurus....

I was outside messing with it a few hours ago, the throttle body screw came completely out. Luckily, I was able to find it. Thanks guys.
